Singer Melissa Michelle Marjolec Laveaux is the winner of the World Music Grand Prix, announced SACEM (Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers), the French copyright management company.

This decision by SACEM made the Montrealer of Haitian origin jump with joy, and she was quick to communicate the happy news to her fans:

“SURPRISE ! I am the winner of the Grand Prix @sacem for world music. Thank you to all the people, through my ages, my albums, with whom I play and collaborate in the studio, on stage and around the world, “wrote the interpreter of” Nan fon bwa “who currently resides in France.

Each year, the Sacem Grands Prix honor those who create and bring music to life: authors, composers and publishers who have shone during the past year or more widely for their entire career. #SacemPrize

Mélissa, as well as the other artisans of creation awarded by SACEM, will receive her award on December 13, at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique.
