For a Jean Jacques Dessalines museum in Dessalines

The Dessalines Tourist Office (OTD) and the Rayon de lumière Foundation (FRL) organized this 
Saturday o9 October 2021 at the auditorium of the Rayon de lumière hotel, on the occasion 
of the commemoration of "Mwa Anperè a ”, a ceremony of presentation of the catalog titled 
Jacques, Emperor 1st of Hayti. An initiative that follows a series of exhibitions on the life
 of Dessalines from 2017 to 2019. The objective of this catalog is to facilitate the 
establishment in the town of Dessalines of a museum on the life of Jean Jacques Dessalines ,
 father of the nation.


Launched on September 20 until October 17, 2021, around the theme "Ann selebre lavi
Jean Jacques Dessalines", "Mwa Anperè a" is an initiative of the civil society of the 
commune of Dessalines in order to pay deserved homage to the father of nation. 
Among the activities planned during this month, the presentation of the catalog Jacques, 

Empereur 1er is a major turning point towards the rehabilitation of a man and a 
whole slice of people's history. “This catalog is the second step, after the initiative 
to set up the gallery of Jacques, Emperor I of Hayti, towards the development of a project 
that should lead to the establishment of a museum on Dessalines in Marchand Dessalines.
